"What once was for you...is now In Lieu" - In Lieu was created to encourage people to trade in something they feel can live without for a week, a month, a year or more, all in an effort to collectively provide the opportunity for education for communities in Ethiopia: a nation that deserves a resource that provides both help and hope.
I love (to the power of 3) being surrounded by friends, talking to strangers, exploring anything and everything, traveling the world, singing at the top of my lungs (as long as someone is singing with me), and double hugs...you should try it sometime!
I expect to have a few reality checks along the way, and to get way outside my comfort zone. I've been told by some pretty incredible people that I'm going to kick the crap out of this, and I hope to prove that out. I expect to be completely inspired by the creativity that is drawn out of people by In Lieu, and awed to see it all unfold...

I knew virtually NOTHING about Ethiopia. I can't wait to learn more, and experience it first hand in October 2011!
