SHIFTED is a showcase of 5 diverse speakers telling stories of challenge, failure and how they became the successful people they are today. SHIFTED exposes the opportunities created from difficult setbacks and events that result in a shift in someone's life. This event creates the opportunity for people to think about challenge in a new way and be inspired, while supporting imagine1day and educational efforts in Ethiopia. As a result of the learning and development shift that occurs in Vancouver, an educational shift will occur in Ethiopia. Together, we will make shift happen.
I love anything that creates thrill and excitement in my life, that also allows me to learn something new. Whether it'd be travelling with friends to a new country, or testing out a new sport like white-water rafting, I am always looking for the next adventure to go on. I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment after succeeding at something I have never done before and feel that I have experienced the world a little bit more.
Through this Creatribution™ I will learn what it takes to coordinate an entire event, from start to finish and be able to be involved with every step along the way. In previous roles, I have been able to be a part of a large organizing committee and focus on a very narrow responsibility. With SHIFTED, I will be able to oversee the entire process and get a different grasp on every different aspect of creating this kind of event.
I also will be able to utilize my marketing skills and apply my current learning to a hands-on project. Through SHIFTED I will also gain more relevant skills along the way and build my confidence in applying them in future projects.

I got to dive in and learn the inner workings of an advertising agency-client relationship while working with Hangar 18, our fabulous branding sponsor. Being an avid marketing student, it was a great experience to be able to interact so closely with an advertising agency and seeing the fabulous results!
I chose imagine1day because of its unique way of charitable giving. imagine1day is so much beyond simply volunteering your time. Through this process I have been blessed by being surrounded with such an amazing team of people who push me to strive for greatness, every single day.
