Make a uniquely you, CREATRIBUTION to the future you dream of, RIGHT NOW! A creatribution goes beyond dollars, cents, and time. It has a lasting, loving impact that empowers and enables everyone involved to make a difference in our world.
What is it that makes you truly excited and inspired? What do you really LOVE to do with your time? What have you always wanted to do but never thought was possible? A creatribution is a project that you design and carry out in your own community. It connects your passion to your individual contribution to imagine1day. It’s an experience we’re all waiting to become part of.
Our goal is to fill this page with creatributions by people next door and around the world. Be a catalyst. Create a project, talk about it, write about, photograph it, film it. Then send it to us and we’ll profile it.
Email trib@imagine1day.org to connect with a creatributor waiting to support you in discovering how to connect your passion to real change in the world.

I LOVE bringing ideas to life through words. I LOVE inspiring people to take action through storytelling, marketing and communications. I LOVE creating happy memories with family and friends. I LOVE bringing people together in celebration and contribution.
My creatribution is writing the copy for imagine1day's new website (launching March 2010), and supporting imagine1day in copywriting and communications when needed.
I learned that behind every school built by imagine1day are hundreds of inspiring stories, each belonging to a parent, teacher, child, volunteer, community leader or creatributor who is changing the lives of many through their commitment to education.
The fact that that imagine1day's approach develops local community leaders and empowers entire villages to create educational, water and food security improvements that are self-sustaining in the long run.
I learned that even in the harshest conditions, the love and commitment of teachers, parents and community leaders for their children can sustain a school and hope for the future- even if it is as simple as a class taking place under a tree, or a shack built of sticks and stones. This spirit of love and hope for the next generation is so incredibly inspiring to me.
when every person has access to what they need to live and contribute to their highest potential: water, food, shelter, education and love.
I am passionate about helping youth discover their strengths and supporting their efforts in achieving their goals. I also love writing and creating stories.
My creatribution is assisting the imagine1day staff by writing PR material with dry wit and creative flair.
I am writing with a specific purpose: to promote and generate excitement around imagine1day. Writing pieces that achieve this goal has been a positive learning process.
Their commitment to making education available for all Ethiopian children by 2020. It is a huge and challenging goal (a BHAG, as my girlfriend would say) and that desire, to reach for what many think impossible, is what makes imagine1day so great.
I still have no idea who came up with the concept to combine lemons and athletic wear. But I'm grateful.
Education and literacy are important to me. I resonated with imagine1day's commitment to bringing both to Ethiopia.
every child will be able to fall asleep to a bedtime story.
I love warming up with a mug of Tea (milk oolong & hojicha cream, see David's Tea on West 4th) & then sweating it all out at Moksha Yoga with Emma or Mo.
I am designing a book that will be used to communicate imagine1day's story, while inspiring people to get involved.
I was able to practice my ability to multitask, collaborate with others and make a contribution to something that means something in a personal way.
imagine1day is most important to me because it stands for possibility & change. It is proof that when like minded people with diverse backgrounds and skill sets come together, anything is imagine-able truly is possible ;)
I am simply reminded that every one of us has something to offer the world, and everything to gain from that contribution.
I was drawn to the people involved with imagine1day as well as the impact I witnessed once I learned more about what imagine1day does. I was drawn to the people who were equally passionate, creative and getting involved as a community for a global initiative. It's about people having fun and making a difference while they do it.
is seeing possibility in everything and having a space to take action in making that possibility a reality.
I love playing the piano. I love being busy. I love being in Vancouver.
I worked for imagine1day for 4 weeks as an intern. I did many administrative tasks such as researching companies and organizing pictures. Also I organized hundreds of waivers for the flash mob called 'dancing in the street'. And after I go back to Korea, I'll try to raise awareness for imagine1day in Korea. I hope that many people in Korea will know about imagine1day . Then, they can be creatributors!
I learned how to work with others, do administrative works, and be professional.
Education is human right. imagine1day is supporting future leaders in Ethiopia.
I knew that people can really enjoy their work and make money at the same time. Sapna and Jered are always super busy, but they really enjoy their work!
I chose imagine1day, because my future goal is to work for UNESCO. So I needed practical experience. I'm really interested in science education for sustainable development, because that education can not only protect the environment but also fight off poverty.
All people around the world can be educated and have their dream.
i LOVE to paint while dancing to loud beats in my studio i LOVE to cook and be with friends in my kitchen i LOVE to travel and explore other countries and cultures i LOVE to make things with my hands i LOVE living
My creatribution will be to create a work of art which allows viewers to witness the creative process, through written and video blogs. The end result will be an original painting which will be printed in a limited edition run and a portion of those proceeds will be donated to imagine1day.
The most important thing to me is that imagine1day is creating sustainable change, not just "helping" and then walking away. They are working with communities in such a way that allows them to be independant of the charity while learning, growing and gaining from their presence.
Because I knew that I would learn.
Because I love children and think that their well being equates to the well being of the world.
That each of us takes full responsibility for our own actions.

Being alive! Experiencing every minuscule detail of life.
I have made videos for Rachel Moxam, Ella Batten and Kits Day.
I learned that something that may seem small to one person could mean the world to another.
They are passionate about providing education for the children of Ethiopia. They inspire you to look inside yourself and discover your passions. This helps you find a way to contribute by doing the things that you love in a fun environment.
That although Ethiopia is one of the poorest nations, they are politically stable and the government is in full support of assisting with imagine1day's goals.
They are honest and sincere in their approach and do not victimize the people of Ethiopia.
our children learn from the mistakes of the past and go forth into a bright future.
I love being creative; I love people; I love dancing; I love music; I love laughter; and I love making a difference!
My creatributionTM is the conception and organization of a fundraising event that features local performance groups. The event is called OneNight for 1Day and is an opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate performance arts, and become educated about imagine1day and the work they do in Ethiopia.
I am learning how to budget and plan an event, discovering how well intentioned most people are while achieving a sense of satisfaction as I work with people who are like-minded in their passion for children's education and creativity.
I love the concept of community and imagine1day's philosophy that contributions are not limited to monetary donations, but include time, energy, connections, creativity and participation.
When you're passionate about creating change, others become inspired by your cause and form a support network to help reach your goal. Community is a powerful and beautiful force, one that is so much larger then our personal contacts; we can affect the lives of people we will never meet, in ways we will never fully know.
Because they're awesome! More specifically because imagine1day puts 100% of proceeds from creatributionsTM towards projects in Ethiopia, they encourage creativity and community, and they work towards attainable goals that are beneficial to the community as a whole.
When we can look back, and say, "see? We changed the course of history."
Organizing events
Myself and my Event Marketing class at Capilano University were given the opportunity to host an event for Mac's Convenience store and Seattle's Best Coffee. For the event we needed to choose a charity that we would raise money for both through donation as well as a portion of the drip coffee sales went to imagine1day.
I learned how to work with a large team and how to delegate tasks in order to achieve an optimal outcome.
The fact that they are working to help people less fortunate and that they promote education.
I learned that they have clear and creative flyers that explain their goals in a few simple sentences.
The proceeds go 100% to the projects.
when all children are carefree.
I love to read, to laugh and to appreciate art. Being an educator, working with children brings me great joy.
A morning of drumming and creating art with children was my creatribution.
I discovered that children want to know more about imagine1day! We achieved a fun experience of drumming and art, and we helped purchase school items for students in Ethiopia.
Big or small people can make a positive impact on the world by their actions.
I learned that the children in Ethiopia are incredibly resilient.
Arts and crafts
We (my friends and I) bought cards and drew on them and typed on the back. My mom had them printed. Click here to see our cards.
Kids need to go to school in Ethiopia to learn
Other people care about sending kids to school too
Because I want to send kids to school in Ethiopia and so do you
Every kid could go to school and every kid had a home and every kid had a parent

I love helping people make "In the moment music" to relieve their stresses, take them on an unexpected music making journey.... and having fun.
My creatribution is an interactive music making experience...a musical jam for anyone and everyone.
I learned that I can go into a group of people without my "plan" and listen/react to what the group wants and needs and guide them on an interactive musical journey with ease.
imagine1day is a means for me to give back in a positive way doing "my bliss".
I learned that a group of people can really make change and give back in innovative ways successfully with their enthusiasm and creativeness.
Originally I went into lululemon with my LuluJam card to see if I could do something for the lululemon community...given that my name is Lulu!
Riverside Secondary School, Port Coquitlam (Meaghan Franks, Rachael Hutchinson, Mrs. Blaxland, Mrs. Brandsma)
Rachael: volleyball, down time, cooking, spending time with friends Meaghan: helping people, listening to people's problems, me-time, working out

It gives underprivileged children opportunities to live a richer live.
It made us realize just how privileged we are. It's hard to imagine living with less.
Our connection was through Kasey Chittenden - a teacher at Riverside who shared her passion for imagine1day with us.

Education! It is the only way to effect positive change on a major scale.
That you can positively affect the lives of people far away in a very direct way.
Educate, empower, transform.
Is enabling me to contribute to very positive outcomes in Ethiopia while enriching my life and those within my community.
Rachel thanks her sponsors:
I love, love, love trying to make the world better, happier, more peaceful, and then sometimes being able to step back and see small successes in those attempts.
My creatribution is a cross-Canada cycling from Vancouver to Halifax to raise awareness, and $25,000 for imagine1day. This is a chance for me to contribute to a cause which I feel is crucially important, but also a chance for me to prove my own potential to myself which I love doing.
The objective of imagine1day, that being education in the developing world is exactly the path I want to take with my life. I feel that education is such a vital tool to create change on so many levels. Whether it is formal or informal education, it can eliminate poverty, improve life skills, reduce ignorance and therefore discrimination, spread knowledge on sustainable living, and create acceptance and patience. Focusing on developing countries is important because these often the populations that receive little to no education.
I learned that if you find something that you truly want to do, you’re passionate about it, and you share it with other people, those people will support you and want to help you get there because that passion becomes contagious. SO ALWAYS SHARE YOUR PASSION!!!
There are certainly other organizations that focus on education, but I chose imagine1day because of the unique and sustainable structure it holds. It does not simply give a village a school house, they give everything that is needed to ensure the school will be used, and continue to be used. I also appreciate that when I first approached imagine1day saying, “what can I do to help?” I was not actually told what to do. Instead I was asked, "what would you like to do to help?"
everyone has the chance to discover their own potential.

Empowering the next generation of the WORLD.
I didn't know that Chip's endowment covered operating expenses for the foundation so that 100% of a donation goes to fund the actual project. Very cool.
Support our resident innovator, Chip!
the world IS one community living in the present, not the past.
Reaching our community and involving them in our attempts to give back while showcasing their individual talents.
We have contacted three local artists who will be contributing graphics which we will print on lululemon t-shirts and sell with the profits going to charity. In addition, one of the artists will be designing a live art piece in front of our store window, and another will be donating a surf board with the designers artwork, both of which will be up for silent auction. Live music from a local Dj will be provided to add to the atmosphere for our 'art gallery' feel of the store. Our goal is to raise $1000 for classroom supplies and we are positive that it will be reached.
I have learned that even in these tough times, people are still willing to help those in need using every resource available to them including their talents. I hope to expose these local artists to the community while highlighting imagine1day's mission.
What is most important is the direct affect donors have on children in Ethiopia. Education is a gift and a right; being a part of creating the environment for learning, is reward enough.
Everyone has the opportunity to be involved no matter what their personal resources are.
Everyone has the right to a proper education, I'm glad to find a program dedicated to making this a reality and connecting ordinary people to this great cause. Working together with our community of artists, we are committed to filling this need so that children living on the other side of the world can develop their natural talents and skills to become a successful, happy community , just imagine1day...

Collaborating with friends and sharing experiences.
An imagine1day Benefit Concert at Trinity Western University March 26 with In Medias Res, Eisenhouer, and The Magician. There will also be a local market with paintings, knitting, and photography – a portion of the sales going to imagine1day.
Education in Ethiopia is a goal people get excited about! Many of my friends have contributed their unique talents to this event, whether it be graphic design or band bookings. A common goal and a little creativity can go a long way.
I love that imagine1day focuses on education. Education means a future generation of leaders who understand the issues of their country and can work from the inside out to change things. It is the key to sustainable change.
It is possible, even in the business, even an ocean away, to impact the lives of others simply by doing what you’re good at.
Because their operation is specific, straightforward, and effective. It is hard for us to grasp changing the world – but educating Tigray? That is a goal, while certainly grand, that I can wrap my mind around.
...the end of apathy, justice around the globe, and people working together to bring about change.
Being in the outdoors, spending time with my kids and listening to music.
Coming up with the “Spare Change” idea, giving the gift of time and Love.
Every little bit helps, small tasks reap huge benefits and to not take myself too seriously.
Primary education is provided for the youth of Ethiopia (Knowledge is Power) and that education means power and hope. imagine1day is a win-win situation; filled with good people, good food and a good cause.
How important building the girls washroom is to the project and if you build it they will come to school.
Sapna's association with the charity and I trust where the funds are going.
...that there would be worldwide peace. Where every child gets to go to school and we appreciate all people and cherish our differences.

How good it feels to apply your agency towards the well-being of other people.
Their non-ethnocentric approach and their commitment to creative solutions.

Being in God's Hands.
Started the HRTS program throughout the Whistler, Blackcomb and Squamish restaurants where servers and Bartenders have a chance to donate one dollar a day from their tips towards imagine1day.
Being a positive wave of change is not always easy but worth every single second of my experience during this existence. I found true worth, true purpose and true power.
The whole.
One person can change the world. Every thing you choose to do or not do affects someone or something. You might never find out when, where or whom but this is where the "Awareness" and magic lies.
imagine1day chose me. It came threw the beautiful circle of life, the universal energy and from the small world that we live in.
is deeply connected to our "human" purpose.
I love helping people and seeing the result of a small effort that changes lives.
I made a Christmas update for my family. In the update I told them about imagine1day and I asked that whatever money they would spend on me for Christmas gifts, to instead put that amount towards a project for imagine1day. If they weren’t planning on getting me a gift, I asked for them to go onto the website and educate themselves about the organization and talk about it in their communities.
I learned that there is more to life than just doing what everyone else is doing, meaning, getting caught up in the things that don’t really matter in the long run. It was a real joy to know that something so small can make a difference to people that I don’t even know.
I love how the entire system works. Its unique way of accepting donations, the involvement of the communities in building and the self sustainability of the schools after all is said and done in the community!
I learned that being a catalyst for something great can really make a difference for other people and their thoughts about a situation or idea. Education is key!
I love what it stands for. Its goal of educating an entire country is a big statement and will be accomplished!!!
Children will grow up in a world of opportunity, not only for individuals but for everyone, no matter where you live!
We love to have our friends and family enjoy each others company in our home.
We invited our friends and colleagues to join us for an evening of Holiday celebration, delicious food, carolling and laughing. Guests were asked to bring their spare change and penny jars for our daughters to roll coins for imagine1day.
The small contributions all add up to a substantial donation on behalf a group of generous people.
The most important aspect of imagine1day is the grassroots philosophy of assisting at a local level with local residents to provide education to a local population in Ethiopia.
Small changes create large results.
Education is the key to breaking a cycle of poverty. Starting at the earliest stages of life will give children the basics they need to be self sufficient adults.
when children are not victims of adult strife!
I love styling people and designing!
As a stylist and designer I have currently selected a piece from the MANTRA collection of Hilliard Design, the tear drop necklace, and the company is giving $100 from every sale online to imagine1day.
This is an organization that is not creating a band-aid solution to poverty and hunger but they are creating the tools for people to become sustainable and create a better way of life. This isn't temporary it is permanent.
That before imagine1day schools and their committed teachers, classes were maybe 20-30 students now they are 50-60. Building schools and educating parents about the necessity and possibilities when a child has an education results in kids going to school.
A better sense of community and commitment.
when no one has to ask for help because everyone, every day just incorporates it in their daily routine. A world of balance.

I love to feed people... that is with food, love, and inspiration.
I share my love of cooking with my friends through teaching and inspiring each other to explore all that is out there. I have been teaching cooking classes in people’s homes and donating the proceeds to imagine1day.
I learnt that we all want the same things in life. Good times, laughter and to help each other.
imagine1day is creating an educational environment that will carry children in Ethiopia from early childhood to adulthood.
I learnt that most people want to give, they just don't know how and where to start.
I chose imagine1day because it is helping educate children, and that is very important to me.
Love, peace, education and prosperity for all!
