The education system in Ethiopia is administered by the Federal Ministry of Education who oversee the nine administrative regions of Ethiopia. Each region has a regional education bureau and is comprised of several (regional administrative) zones which contain 10-15 woredas each. A Woreda (also spelled wereda) is an administrative ward, or local government, of Ethiopia, equivalent to a district. Woredas are composed of a number of Kebele, or neighborhood associations, which are the smallest unit of local government in Ethiopia.
