Role model: “My brother because he is supporting me and encouraging me to finish school. He works at the Woreda Agriculture Office and told me that the people who have good jobs are the ones that finished high school so I should too. He finished Grade 10 but then dropped out. He wants me to finish Grade 12.”

Favourite celeb: Dirarto – a female Ethiopian runner.

Family: “I am the second oldest child in my family and I have five brothers and sisters. My brother finished Grade 10 but dropped out. My vision is to be the first person in my family to complete high school. My family has a half-hectare plot of land that we plow and plant. We also depend on the Safety Net Program where my parents work in exchange for kilograms of different cereals. This helps our family to have enough to eat."

Family’s skills for potential income generation activities: Animal fattening of sheep, raising and selling chickens, selling eggs.

What her mom, Amet, thinks about her having the opportunity to go to high school: “We have such a low income that I did not know how it would be possible for Letegebriel to continue on to high school. This opportunity that you are giving us is so good for her and our family. She will have a better life and will have more options for her future. She will be able to choose her life because she will be educated.”
