Building Quality Classrooms in 2008

Top-down education gets turned on its head. The classrooms in Ethiopia just got a little louder and a lot more colourful.

A Story of Change

Where classrooms used to be bare, colourful teaching aids and books now cover walls and shelves. Where lecture-style lessons used to be dictated to passive students, children now enthusiastically work on assignments in groups, shooting their hands way up when they discover the answer. School no longer ends when the bell rings either. Though extracurricular school clubs did exist before, they were largely out-of-use due to lack of funding and awareness. imagine1day has helped strengthen student-run clubs putting students on the path to future leadership in society by first orienting them to be leaders in their schools.
