A Story from Hintalo Wejirat
There were only a few desks to share among the dozens of students in 24 schools in the District of Hintalo Weijirat. Each morning, the children would scramble for a seat. There simply weren’t enough to go around and, inevitably, most of the children, and almost all of the girls, were pushed out of the desks. They spent the rest of the day sitting uncomfortably on the hard dirt floors as they attempted to complete their lessons. Now every child and teacher has a desk and seat of their own.
Goals
- Provide every student and every teacher in 24 schools with a desk and seat.
- Equip their classrooms with shelving for books and storage.
