Onameya Junior Primary School

60 children attended school in a temporary shelter made of branches, reclaimed roofing, sand, and dirt floors. Now they have a solid school to learn in.
A Story About Onameya
It was common for lessons to be disrupted in Onameya. With classes taking place in lovingly assembled but unstable shelters made of trees, sticks and tin sheets, rain, floods, domestic animals and wildlife often interfered or prevented classes from taking place.
In a new school built lovingly of brick by Raleigh International volunteers and members of the local community, 60 children are now able to focus on their lessons.
Goals
- Partner with Raleigh International, the Namibia Ministry of Education and the Namibia Ministry of Works to fund the material costs of a two-classroom school building in Onameya in northern Namibia for 60 grade 1-3 students and two teachers.
